Missouri Military Academy Print E-mail

M+H Architects were selected again by Missouri Military Academy for a major addition and renovation to create the recently completed New Academic Building. The total project is around 43,350sf of building, plus the surrounding site impacted by construction. The building incorporates space for core academics, exploratory/elective spaces, and shared areas such as commons, library, food service and building support spaces. The project became occupied in the fall semester of 2009. The project has been designed to achieve a LEED Silver Certification. LEED items include 40% water reduction, using low-emitting materials and reusing existing materials.

Kirkwood Parks Maintenance Facility Print E-mail

 

The Kirkwood Parks Maintenance and Operations Facility is the third project awarded to M+H by the City of Kirkwood in the last 3 years. It is an 11,000sf, tilt-up concrete structure to house the Parks Department vehicles, shop and offices. The site has a substantial amount of topography, a water tower, and athletic fields that must remain. A multi-level design was required to allow access due to the grade change on the site. A paved material and equipment yard with 6 covered storage bins is being provided. The site will be fenced to provide security and control for outdoor yard areas.

 
Pattonville School District - High School Athletics Facilities Master Plan Print E-mail

 

Pattonville Senior High School Athletic Facilities Master Planning project involves programming of improvements to the outdoor athletic fields and football stadium as well as a new natatorium building on the Senior High School Campus. The Master Plan process will conclude with conceptual design of the natatorium, football stadium improvements and impact to all outdoor athletic fields.

 
Callaway Electric Cooperative Print E-mail

 

The new Callaway Electric Cooperative corporate headquarters and operations center is located on 30 acres of a new 128 acre Callaway Energy Centre industrial park development. The CEC is developing the industrial park at the junction of US Highway 54 and State Road H, in Fulton, MO. As the recently completed first building in the development, the CEC will set the standard for energy efficiency and environmental consciousness for future tenants of the park. The single story facility includes approximately 30,000sf of office, 10,000sf of warehouse for storing and assembly of various electric components, 14 vehicle bays at 28,000sf for storage of utility vehicles used daily, along with a material and equipment storage of 5,050sf and maintenance building of 5,650sf. The project is pursuing LEED certification with the USGBC.

 
St. Mark Catholic School - New Gymnasium & Parish Center Print E-mail

Currently in design, this new facility contains a gymnasium with a high school regulation sized basketball court and competition volleyball court. The new building adjoins the existing school adjacent to the existing kitchen and cafeteria, which will support the gym when used for non-athletic functions. A stage is planned as an alternate bid. New toilet rooms, storage rooms, and P.E. office are also included.
The exterior of the building is designed to compliment the existing building, but give the parish an improved identity from the road.

 
St. Gerard Majella - New Classroom Building & Narthex Addition Print E-mail

 

M+H Architects is currently underway on a new project for St. Gerard Majella Catholic School and Church consisting of a new Classroom Building and Narthex Addition. The project is expected to be in the range of 35,000 to 40,000 square feet.

 
Foreign Trade Zone Distribution Center I Print E-mail
This is the first of four proposed buildings on a site in Berkeley County outside Charleston, South Carolina for The Rockefeller Group. This 561,000 square foot speculative warehouse building will incorporate LEED design practices and is targeted for silver accreditation.
 
Middlesex Center Boulevard Print E-mail

The project, part of a newly created warehouse district that includes three buildings, contains a 1.35-million-sq-ft warehouse facility in Jamesburg, N.J., which was designed to be occupied by two tenants. The building contains two identical 675,600-sq-ft bulk distribution centers, each with its own main entrance. The building’s interior features include bar joist for a 36-ft clear height and 50 x 50 ft column spacing. Precast load bearing concrete wall panels clad the building because they offered cost, durability, and speed benefits. Erection of the panels took only 30 days. The precast concrete walls were finished with reveals cast into the panels, and they were painted on site after erection.

 
Microsoft's Northlake Data Center Print E-mail

M+H Architects, working with mission critical facilities expert, Ascent Corp. and the developer, Koman Group, recently completed a more than $500 million, 550,000-square-foot data center for Microsoft, located in Northlake, Illinois, outside of Chicago. Northlake Data Cente is the most powerful data center development in Chicago and one of the most powerful data center developments in the U.S. The Chicago facility sprawls over more than 12 acres located in direct proximity to a city water pumping station, significant fiber optic bandwidth along adjacent Interstate and rail lines, and its own on-site electric substation. With 40MW(2N) or 80MW(gross) of power available, and readily expandable to 60MW (2N) or 120MW (gross), Northlake supports thousands of computer servers that process internet activity and network services for Microsoft. The center will probably employ no more than 75 people to operate the servers.

 
Southern Boone County - Third through Fifth Grade Addition Print E-mail

 

This recently completed project is a new 38,000sf, single story elementary school for Southern Boone County School District, in Ashland, MO. This is the first phase of a multi-phase project which includes one new building and improvements to various buildings throughout the school district. The building’s exterior was designed in the same character as an adjacent existing primary school building. A covered porch at the front entry gives the school a homey feeling. A brick exterior with standing seam gabled roofs over the main lobby and gymnasium keep the look simple, with clean lines and an uncomplicated appearance.
“Green” concepts are incorporated into several areas of the building, including a ground source heat pump system, the use of regional materials on the exterior, and high recycled content materials in the interior. The building is situated on its site to allow for future expansion. The second phase, also recently completed, is the addition of a 10,000sf fifth grade wing. 

 
Ronald McDonald House Family Room At Cardinal Glennon Print E-mail

M+H Architects, working with O'Toole Design Associates, recently brought another Ronald McDonald House Family Room to life. The new Ronald McDonald House Family Room is located at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. The Family Room is located within the hospital and offers families a place to stay and visit with their children in a more home like setting. The Family Room offers a residential setting complete with bedrooms, a small kitchen, a laundry facility, a balcony, and a large living room area. The project is 1,400 square feet and includes all the comforts of staying at home to make the stay as easy on the families as possible.

 
Andrews Academy Print E-mail

Andrews Academy Phase I of their new school is now open and running, consisting of an approximate 40,000sf two story educational building for kindergarten through fifth grades.The building provides for expansion capabilities for a subsequent phase II (expansion of existing grades) and phase III consisting of expansion for seventh through eighth grades with a gymnasium.

 
DeSmet Jesuit High School- Stadium Projects, Phase I Print E-mail

 

De Smet Jesuit High School recently completed the next phase of the campus improvement master plan. This phase focused on the Pierre La Barge Football Stadium and the baseball facilities. The improvements to the stadium include enlarging the size of the infield of the football field to accommodate a regulation size soccer field and resurfacing with synthetic turf, a new press box, an alumni/student activities pavilion, the addition of two lanes on the track, and the resurfacing of the track with the synthetic material that has been used on all of the Olympic tracks since 1972. The improvements to the baseball field include a new masonry press box, new masonry dugouts with metal roofs, a new masonry backstop with the De Smet logo, new bullpens, a new batting cage, a new larger grandstand, and an alumni/student pavilion.

KCI Logistics Centre I Print E-mail

M+H is working with Trammell Crow to create a 500,000 square foot office building in the Kansas City Intermodal Business Center adjacent to the Kansas City International Airport. The second phase of the project expands the size of the project to just under a million square feet.

 
The Meadows at Lake Saint Louis Print E-mail

The Meadows at Lake St. Louis was recently awarded Masonry Project of the Year for 2008 by Masonry Construction Magazine. For more information on this award please click here. 

M+H worked with The Davis Street Land Company to develop a new kind of shopping experience for the St. Louis Area. The development, now open, is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of I-64/US 40 and Lake Saint Louis Blvd. Interstate I-64/US 40 is the main east/west artery through St. Louis. The Meadows is designed as an open air center with an atmosphere and shopping environment distinctive from traditional enclosed malls featuring easy street front parking, outdoor gathering areas and the country's leading specialty retailers and restaurants all in convenient proximity to the customer base. The center has been developed to meet the growing demand for specialty stores and restaurants in St. Charles County.

Among the retailers and restaurants choosing The Meadows as the site of their ONLY stores in St. Charles County are BC’s Kitchen, Banana Republic, Caché, Chico’s, Clarkson Jewelers, Coldwater Creek, Eddie Bauer, Jos. A. Bank, New Balance St. Louis, Aveda Salon Kashmir, Talbots and The Walking Company. Three retailers will be making their Missouri debut at The Meadows, including Von Maur Department Store (opening fall 2010); Backwoods, the innovative, fast-growing outdoor apparel chain opening in early 2009; and Bachrach. Columbia Catholic High School Print E-mail

A new Catholic High School for the Diocese of Jefferson City, MO, this is a joint project with Peckham & Wright Architects of Columbia, MO. This is a multi-phased project that provides the flexibility necessary when beginning a new high school in a quickly developing area. Phase I includes the sitework along with 84,000sf of building which incorporates 14,000sf of shell building ready for immediate expansion.

 
Ursuline Academy Print E-mail

Ursuline Academy is embarking on the second phase of its master planning process with M+H. Programming and conceptual design services for this phase include the Performing Arts Center along with the Educational Commons. This is a challenging and rewarding process for Ursuline as they continue to develop and enhance their established campus.
