Gym, Science Classrooms, 2-Story Class Wing, Entry

Phase II – Building Additions: Work began in June 1998 on an $8 million construction project that included a three level, 38,600 SF Gymnasium/Science Classroom Addition and a 14,000 SF two-story Classroom Wing.

The Gym addition accommodates locker rooms, weight training, athletic practice room, classrooms, visiting team locker room, training room and laundry/storage areas in the lower level, which have access to the existing outdoor fields. On the main level, a new gymnasium more than doubles the available space for the school’s teams to practice and allows for all-school assemblies. The main level plan also encloses an existing breezeway, creating a new campus entry and student commons area. The upper level includes new and renovated areas for science and high school administrative uses.

The two-story classroom addition provides 12 additional classrooms, allowing the school to increase enrollment as well as accommodate the space needs associated with future renovations to other areas of the school. The exterior design of the classroom addition is complementary to the existing architecture and connects to a new gateway element, which has become a new campus marker and main school entrance.
